The Harry Ivany Arena on Military Road is the focal point of winter recreation activities for our community.  From minor hockey, figure skating, adult recreation hockey, along with general, family, moms & tots skating, winter carnival activities, special events, and birthday parties, the arena is a busy place.

In the off season and throughout the summer the arena hosts numerous special events such as the Bayside Bash, Giant Bingo, Art Show, along with other activities related to our annual Flying Boat Festival.  The arena also regularly hosts the Central NL Antique Car Show. As well, the arena facilitates the Botwood Boys & Girls Club summer sports program.

Named for the late Harry 'Dick' Ivany, who spent many hours playing, coaching, and refereeing broomball, the arena underwent a major renovation in 2012.  This renovation resulted in 6 new or refurbished dressing rooms, time clock, canteen, lighting, sound system, boards, along with a new foyer and main entrance.  This past year the multipurpose room was renovated and the main roof membrane was replaced.

The Harry Ivany Arena is a great venue for skating and birthday parties

or other occasions and special events.

For rental inquiries please call the arena at 257-3361
